The federal government shutdown may be over, but small businesses across Queens continue to face the lasting impact of the 40+ day SNAP/EBT freeze.

That’s why @redcnyc has launched an Emergency Low-Interest Loan Fund to support food-based retailers experiencing a drop in sales during this time. If you own a small business, or know a neighbor who owns one, please share this resource. Let’s make sure our businesses can stay open, are supported, and have the opportunity to thrive.

Happy Veteran’s Day! I’m thinking of the men and women who’ve worn the uniform, including my father, a retired U.S. Army First Sergeant, whose 20 years of service continue to inspire me every day.

Queens is home to countless veterans and military families, and today we say thank you. Your service is a constant reminder of what it means to show up for one another.
